Spot's story

When Spot, a one-year-old male cat, was badly injured in a road accident, his elderly owner didn’t know where to turn. She immediately rushed him to the Oakland Veterinary Clinic in Banbridge, where he received emergency treatment.

Over the course of the next seventeen days Spot endured three separate operative complications. Much-needed painkillers and antibiotic drugs increased the cost of his treatment and, although his veterinary carers offered Spot free hospitalisation, his owner worried over the cost of the eventual bill.

That’s where Tailwaggers stepped in with a substantial payment towards Spot’s treatment. His owner was relieved that a heavy burden had been lifted from her shoulders.

Spot is now back to normal and none the worse for his ordeal. His owner said: "Without the help of Tailwaggers, I really don’t know what I would have done to pay the bill – it was a tremendous worry. I am very grateful to Tailwaggers for their help."
